It was really important to K that she would have photos that would feel like “her”. This is a request or concern I get from a lot of my clients, because there are so many reasons why we can look at a photo of ourselves and feel like it doesn’t look like us. An important piece of my job is to create pictures that feel like you, and that is why I make it a priority to get to know my clients through the conversations I have with them. I’ll ask questions like: What do you want to feel when you look at these pictures? What favorite body features do you have? What do you want the energy to be in these portraits? What colors and textures do you want to wear and be surrounded by?

E and I spent a lot of time reflecting on the different identities she has, and how she is really proud of the place she is at in life right now. She is a mom, a wife, a friend, and a strong and thoughtful person. She has spent a lot of her recent energy and years caring for other people, and more recently has taken steps toward really feeling good about herself and who she is as an individual.

Deb is a breast cancer survivor and received a mastectomy tattoo from an organization called P.ink a number of years ago. Her history and experience with her body has been one of different feelings and stressors than most people, yet she has a deep appreciation for it and wanted boudoir portraits that would feel natural and true to her.

Corrah loves pink and in our first conversations said it is “her color” and that nearly everything she owns is pink with sparkles or glitter, so she wanted to own that, and pull in some really fun, girly, glittery elements into her session.

I photographed Stephanie about two years ago for the first time and was psyched to hear from her again, as I always am with clients who come back for another boudoir session. She came to this session in a season of really embracing herself and feeling confident in the life she is living.

These words from Cyndy bring an inner fire to my soul every time I read them. I believe a boudoir session is a powerful, amazing, celebratory experience at any age - and I am so grateful this was true for Cyndy.

Rachael loved the idea of not having one super specific focus for her boudoir portraits, and instead a focus of capturing multifaceted sides of her personality. The variety of feelings she was looking to capture came through so effortlessly in her portraits and everything fit together seamlessly in a cohesive color palette and style.

When planning this session with S, we spent time talking about her life and some of what she was proud of in her work and professional sphere. She works directly with people, uplifting and encouraging them - it is difficult work that she is really passionate about, and I love that she was able to use her boudoir session as a way to almost turn that care and compassion inward, toward herself.

Suzanne wanted to do a boudoir session for herself to celebrate herself. She had a clear vision of portraits that were “sexy but natural,” with some really cozy and everyday vibes - like holding a coffee mug while wrapped in a sweater.

Every year Sam likes to set a specific goal and try something new - something that is a challenge or that she wants to do but is out of her usual comfort zone. In the spirit of doing something that scares her and fulfilling her bold promise to give the unfamiliar a go, she decided this was the year she would do a boudoir session. Together we planned a session that celebrated this moment in her life.

Ava decided to take the leap and do a boudoir session out of self-love after some encouragement from a friend. When we started planning for her session, we talked about her ideas for how she wanted her portraits to feel-- she wanted pictures that would feel “subtle sexy” and love how that translated into soft and romantic portraits with a hint of drama and depth.

I really enjoy working with returning clients: witnessing their personal growth and sharing in their seasons of life as they unfold. I’ve talked with so many of my boudoir clients about how much grow and change in just a year or two, and I love seeing the new energy and intentions they bring to subsequent boudoir sessions.

Candice’s portraits are bursting with personality and let her joyful spirit come through with so much life. They are colorful and fun and hold such depth and soul in a way that feels really true and authentic to her.

Lisa’s eye for fashion and experience selling clothing came through in her thoughtful wardrobe choices. She loves pink and blush and brought many pieces playing off that color palette that worked so well with the warmth of the brick in my studio.
