Corrah’s Confident, Glittery Boudoir Portraits
Corrah reached out after thinking about doing a boudoir session for a while - and she wanted to do a session to surprise her wife for their third wedding anniversary. She loved my same-day, full-day approach to boudoir and was looking forward to experiencing an entire day of self-celebration. A whole day just to focus on yourself can be kind of unheard of and super powerful, and I love that Corrah was so ready to embrace that.
Corrah also liked the idea of doing these pictures now because she had been on a wellness journey in the last year and a half and wanted to celebrate how far she had come. In this space of feeling really confident in herself and wanting to do something sweet for her wife, we focused on letting her personality shine with portraits that feel feminine and romantic and happy.
One thing I loved from her session was all of the color and personality that she brought. Corrah loves pink and in our first conversations said it is “her color,” and that nearly everything she owns is pink with sparkles or glitter, so she wanted to own that and pull in some really fun, girly, glittery elements into her session. On her session day, Kelsey from The Hair Badassery complimented her style with soft and natural hair and makeup. Corrah wanted her hair down in easy, beachy waves with a lighter lip color and more natural tones of browns and tans in her eyes.
She wore a pink flowy lace sundress to start her session that feels sweet and girly, and a long sleeve shirt with a pink print that she paired with black lace underwear. Pairing a comfy shirt that just feels like “you” with comfy lace bottoms is always such a fun contrast of casual and romantic.
My favorite portraits from Corrah’s session are the ones of her in the ‘glitter queen’ shirt - they are so happy and expressive! The shirt had glittery sleeves and she wore it with boots, pink socks, and lace bottoms.
Corrah also wore a pink bralette with bottoms that had a tropical print, as well as a black set that felt romantic with delicate lace that she paired with heels. I always say that boudoir portraits really come alive when people let themselves shine through in their portraits, and Corrah brought her unique energy into every little corner of this session.
Corrah, thank you for being unapologetically yourself and letting your personality shine in these portraits. Your confidence and joy was radiant, and I so so so enjoyed getting to know you! Thank you for being your incredible self. You are amazing.
