Photoshoot Social Mini Sessions

Hello, friends! One of my favorite parts of being a boudoir photographer (actually, probably my VERY favorite part!) is getting to meet incredible clients and develop relationships with them. I’m convinced that the people I get to photograph are some of the most hardworking, creative, lovely, and inspiring people in Minnesota!

To show my appreciation and love for my past clients (and to have an excuse to see and catch up with them again!), back in the spring I hosted an event in the studio that I called the Photoshoot Social. I gave my past clients the opportunity to come into the studio for a quick 15-minute session - the perfect way to tide themselves over in between full boudoir sessions! I also gave each client the option of bringing a friend with them to their mini session for a free headshot, just to spread the love a little more (and because everything’s more fun when you share it with friends!). I loved the mix of seeing my clients again, meeting their dear friends, and pampering them with some beautiful new pictures.

Due to the pandemic, I wanted to make sure my clients felt extra-cared for and extra-safe. I spaced out each client so that I had lots of time to clean and sanitize the studio between each person. I put out my favorite fancy snacks, played Lizzo in the background, and put on a slideshow of pictures from each client’s past boudoir session! This is a stressful time in our world, and it made me so happy to create a little oasis of relaxation and joy for my clients.

After each client and I chatted and caught up on life, we did a mini 15-minute portrait session. Each client chose one outfit or look to wear, and I picked my current favorite corner of the studio - by the windows and one of the brick walls. Something I find really cool anytime that I photograph a client again is that we always pick right up where we left off at their last boudoir session; everything felt really confident and comfortable! The first-time boudoir nerves are always gone, and the mood in the studio was so happy and easygoing.

This Photoshoot Social was really fun for me! I love having clients back in the studio multiple times and getting to follow their life journeys. Truly, it was so delightful for me to get to see each of my clients again and share some special time with them. We got to explore one little mood or piece of energy for each client -- and even with each client being in front of my camera for just 15 minutes, each person’s pictures feel super personal and reflective of where they're at in life right now.

Adrianna’s photos

Adrianna brought in this really beautiful flowy caftan made by a local brand, ACG. She shared that she wanted some pictures that would feel a little bit ethereal while simultaneously feeling powerful. I think we struck a really cool balance of these two vibes in her pictures!

I really love the light and sense of grounded energy in Adrianna’s pictures! This one feels serene and strong.

Kiersten’s photos

Kiersten shared that she wanted her photos to have a personal branding feel. She brought a flowing blue skirt and a cute floral top to her mini session, and her outfit felt so happy and fun! She also wore her glasses, which added a great touch of personality to her pictures.

Kiersten hoped that her pictures would feel lighthearted and easygoing while capturing her sunniness as a person. Kiersten’s pictures turned out feeling really friendly, inviting, and a little bit candid.

Kiersten also brought along her friend Sarah, and I loved getting to snap these sweet headshots of her! Sarah’s portraits turned out really simple and clean. I also snapped a quick picture of Kiersten and Sarah together and it turned out SO cute (I just love taking pictures of friends together).

I mean, c’mon! How joyful is this picture?!

AmandaJean’s photos

AmandaJean shared that she wanted pictures that would feel both elegant and joyful. She brought in a strappy, lacy nightie in a bright coral color! Her outfit really set a summery, happy tone for her pictures. Her photos ended up feeling relaxed and lovely while showing how much self-love and inner light she has!
