"I have never felt so beautiful and confident in my body"

S and I connected because of a referral from a friend of hers who is a past client - which always means so much to me! While S had been interested in doing boudoir for a long time she also felt nervous, which is a sentiment many of my clients share. When I introduced my “Dear Body” project, S immediately felt drawn to this concept and knew it could be a meaningful approach to her first boudoir session. As part of the project, S hand wrote a beautiful love letter to herself that I incorporated into some of her final portraits.

A few of the anchor words S used to describe her hopes for her boudoir session were “powerful” and “natural.” In recent years, S has been on a journey toward exploring and embracing her true self, and she wanted her pictures to capture the self-awareness and depth she has been cultivating in her life. She also wanted her pictures to capture different facets of her personality including some moments that felt relaxed and effortless, some moments that felt dramatic, sensual, and even “risque”, and some moments that just felt fun, happy, and flirty.

S loved how her pictures felt like a testament to her true self and a powerful way to see herself in a beautiful light. After her session, she shared these incredible words about the impact of her boudoir experience:

“I never thought I would do something like this for myself, and I am so glad I did. I encourage every human to treat themselves to such a wonderful experience. It truly is a gift. I have never felt so beautiful and confident in my body. Seeing the outcome of our shoot was a real reminder that I AM beautiful, and I'm allowed to celebrate that.”

I love this happy little moment with S, capturing effortless-feeling energy in the studio.

Artistic, simple, and elegant - and I love how S’s hand rests peacefully across her chest in such a self-loving gesture.

S found this gorgeous blazer at a vintage store before her session, and she loved how powerful she felt wearing it with no bra underneath.
