Suzanne’s grounded, artistic boudoir session
I have such a fun and creative session to share with you today!
Suzanne reached out to me after thinking about a boudoir session for a long time. (This is actually super common -- often, clients have been thinking about doing a boudoir session for months or even years before they feel ready to reach out to me!) She loved the idea of boudoir photography and was at a point in her life where she felt really good in her body and was ready to document it.
Suzanne also said that she loved the idea of spending a whole day feeling a little pampered and special. While having a whole day to relax and enjoy themselves isn’t the primary reason most of my clients decide to do a boudoir session, I hear from clients all the time that it ends up feeling so incredibly meaningful that they took a full day to celebrate themselves!
Suzanne’s boudoir style
Suzanne’s boudoir style was really artistic! She loved the idea of taking some anonymous figure detail portraits. Suzanne said that she chose some wardrobe pieces that felt strong and showed off her athletic side as well as some pieces that felt sensual and feminine. I think these aesthetics really translated well in her outfit choices!
In terms of wardrobe, Suzanne brought along this really beautiful, super simple black bodysuit with a high neck and a cool back. It was high-cut on the legs to show off her hips and had really clean lines that felt really simple and minimal and artsy in photos. Suzanne also brought along a rich, royal blue lace bra, underwear, and garter set. It felt very modern and feminine.
Towards the end of the session, Suzanne wore a lacy bodysuit in a deep berry color with lacy panels on the front. She finished her session with implied nude portraits, most of which she chose to keep private.
To me, these pictures have an organic, relaxed, and grounded feeling to them. They feel super cool and artistic -- very true to Suzanne.
I love the little story that these two pictures tell together.
These two photos feel so grounded and relaxed to me.
The colors in this picture are so lovely and help the vibe feel super calm.
So simple and elegant. <3
Suzanne, I’m so grateful that you chose to create these boudoir portraits with me! You brought such a lovely, creative energy to the studio. These pictures radiate such a cool, artistic energy, just like you do! It was so fun to work together -- thank you for trusting me with your boudoir session!
