J’s sunrise boudoir session on the Minnesota north shore
J booked her outdoor session last summer, and we have been planning for it and looking forward to it for about a year!
When we first talked about her vision for this session, she shared that she wanted her pictures to feel romantic and confident and grounded, with an easygoing and natural energy. The three words she kept coming back to were: soft, calm, and peaceful.
She loved the idea of having one outfit that would be fully clothed (she brought along a beautiful vintage dress) and she loved the idea of some fully nude portraits out in nature. She also brought along a couple outfits that fell somewhere in the middle: bra and underwear sets paired with flowy, romantic layers.
J wanted these pictures to capture that she was claiming herself as her own. She is in a chapter of life where she has done so much work on and for herself, and this photoshoot was a celebration of all that she has done.
We planned J’s session to happen at sunrise at Palisade Head on the north shore, and it ended up that her session took place on the morning of her birthday, which felt so special!
We met up a little bit before sunrise, and so in her first pictures you can see the first rays of sunrise light on J; by the end of the session her pictures were full of bright sunny energy.
J, I am so proud of these pictures we made together! Your session was so long in the making, and I can really see all of the intention and planning and vision that you brought into the session. It all paid off with pictures that are full of depth and personality and your incredible energy! Thank you so much for choosing to work with me - I’m so grateful we were able to do this photoshoot together!
