“J’s” strong, grounded, cozy boudoir session
Ready for a sweet, funny how-we-met story?! “J” lives near my boudoir studio and actually found me on Google Maps! After having come across my name, she spent some time thinking about doing a boudoir session and saved up for a special photoshoot for herself.
When we met, “J” talked about being in a self-reflective period of her life. She said that there were a lot of things that she wanted to do, especially related to her body – getting tattoos, getting fun piercings, and doing a boudoir session – that she’d previously put off doing because she didn't feel validated spending money on something that was just for her.
Throughout the pandemic, “J” reflected on this, and ultimately decided to stop putting off doing some of these special things for herself! She said that making things happen for herself felt really powerful. As she plans these new tattoos and piercings, “J” wanted to do a boudoir session to document her body as it is right now. She said that she is really loving doing things for herself, which is so, so amazing.
“J” also said that she’s in a season of life where she feels really rooted, self-sufficient, and strong. She wanted her portraits to feel really homey and cozy – Sunday morning vibes all the way– and really bask in herself. I think this really comes through in the easygoing, grounded energy that her portraits have.
“J’s” boudoir wardrobe
“J” started off her session with a ribbed cotton bralette paired with a simple thong with clean lines. She layered a cardigan on top. Next, “J” wore a darker-colored bralette set. Afterwards, she wore a black lace bodysuit with an open panel in the back. The black lace was such a fun contrast to the ribbed textures earlier in her session! “J” ended her session with some implied nude portraits.

“J,” it was so much fun working with you! I’m really inspired by the way you’re doing things just for yourself – that is so powerful and important. Thank you for trusting me with your boudoir portraits. I love how they turned out!!
