A’s soft, elegant, and self-celebratory boudoir videography session
A is a client I’ve had the joy of working with for three sessions now, in three distinct seasons of life. A’s first session happened around the time she got married, and this boudoir photoshoot was filled with romantic, self-loving energy. A’s second session focused on celebrating her professional life with artistic, personality-filled branding portraits. When planning this third boudoir session, A reflected on the distinct themes of her current season of life as a new mother, navigating all the changes that come with the transition into parenthood. For this boudoir session, she wanted to feel soft and elegant, focusing on savoring this time to feel connected and lovingly present with herself.
On the day of her session, A and I first spent a little time talking through her outfit ideas and finalizing the plan for her photoshoot. A brought a pale pink, textured silk slip which she felt elegant and romantic wearing. A is someone who loves pastel, feminine colors, so she was really excited to see the rotating color wall in my studio was a soft shade of dusty-rose which complemented the pink hues in her slip beautifully! For her second look, A settled on wearing a favorite gauzy button-up shirt in a lovely, lilac color. I photographed A on the cozy bed in my studio, in front of the stony gray lime wash wall. These portraits feel poised, delicate, elegant, and effortless.
Her boudoir video
A was one of the participants in my “Dear Body” boudoir videography series, and she wrote such a powerful letter to herself after her boudoir session.
