Ashley Mari’s relaxed, confident, feminine boudoir session
Hello, friend! I’m really excited to introduce you to Ashley Mari today.
When we were talking about ideas for her session, Ashley Mari liked the idea of her pictures feeling strong, confident, and feminine. She was excited to have boudoir photos that felt like they really communicated her personality and who she is. She told me that she wanted her pictures to have a sense of depth to them, too. I love creating photos that feel really special and unique to the person in them, and hearing that this was exactly what Ashley Mari was hoping for got me so excited to work together!
Ashley Mari’s boudoir style
Ashley Mari’s personal style is, in essence, cool. The way she expresses herself feels really effortless, chill, and full of ease. She brings a laid-back confidence to everything that I think really shows in her pictures!
Ashley Mari styled her own hair and chose to have her makeup professionally done by Sarah from SM Hair + Makeup. Sarah created a really beautiful smudgy, smokey eye for Ashley Mari complete with false eyelashes. She paired this with a subtle berry lip that coordinated effortlessly with Ashley Mari’s wardrobe choices.
Ashley Mari’s first outfit was a show-stopping bright red lace bodysuit! The bodysuit had a scalloped edge and a simple, delicate strappy back. It felt really curvy, and the pop of color felt bold and playful. Ashley Mari told me that she really loved the energy that the bright red color brought to her pictures.
In a few of her pictures, Ashley Mari layered a short-sleeved black fur vest over the bodysuit. It brought a bit of texture and visual interest, making her photos feel chic and cool.
Ashley Mari’s second boudoir look was a really simple, beautiful caramel-colored slip. It felt really minimal and easy while also feeling feminine, curvy, and cool.
I love slips and think slips are one of the most underrated wardrobe pieces! They might be simple, but they really hug the body and show off the figure in an easygoing, elegant way. They can also add color or texture without being too distracting or busy; they really just look cool and effortless!
I love how Ashley Mari’s smiling at herself in this photo -- it’s such a beautiful moment of self-love. The way the light is hitting her is so lovely, too.
