Rebecca’s joyful, confident, uplifting boudoir session

Hello, friend! I’m so excited to introduce you to Rebecca today and share a few photos from her super joyful boudoir session.  

Meeting Rebecca

Rebecca is the very first client I photographed in 2021! After following me on Instagram for a while, Rebecca decided to book a boudoir session during my Small Business Saturday sale. 

When we first spoke on the phone, Rebecca shared that she felt a little bit nervous -- she’d never done a boudoir session before! She also shared that 2020 was a tough year for her; in her words, she was, “really forced to find this inner confidence and courage.” Rebecca said that she wanted to do something to celebrate herself and to document a moment when she could feel comfortable in her own skin.

During our initial phone call, Rebecca said that she hoped she would like a couple of pictures from her boudoir session -- like many of my clients, she hasn't always liked pictures of herself in the past, and she was nervous that she wouldn't like how her boudoir portraits turned out. She said that she really wanted to have just one special photo where she felt really confident and strong. 

I made a note of it (yep, I take notes during my client phone calls -- I don’t want to forget anything!) but knew that I wanted her to love more than just a couple of her pictures. Going into Rebecca's session, my biggest goal was to bring an undertone of confident energy into all of her pictures - and I think that really shines through.  

Ultimately, Rebecca loved ALL of her portraits and made a big, beautiful album with them! It was magical to show her all of her photos at her portrait reveal and to see her absolutely fall in love with so many of them. It was really fulfilling to see her take in her portraits and bask in her beautiful inner light! 

The prior three pictures make such a cool trio! While each photo is only a micro-expression different, they each feel really different in mood and vibe.

Rebecca’s boudoir style

Rebecca liked the idea of bringing a mix of styles into her boudoir wardrobe to showcase different sides of her personality. Some of her outfits had more of a casual, soft vibe, while others had more of a dramatic, cool feel. Overall, all of her outfits had a very confident and feminine energy! 

Rebecca brought a blue bustier with a silvery, lacy detail and a red lace bodysuit with a deep V-neck. In addition, she brought along some soft pjs, a cami set in a deep blue color, and a cozy pink sweater over a black set.

Ahh, Rebecca has the most blissful expression on her face in this photo! I love it. 

This photo looks so confident and calm to me -- it has such a special feeling. (We actually made this one into a piece of wall art… it’s going to be SO STUNNING!) 

Rebecca also loved the idea of incorporating some implied topless and fine art nude portraits into her session. In these photos, we carefully (and strategically!) draped a clean white sheet around her bare skin. These ended up being some of my favorite portraits from her boudoir session -- they feel so simple, authentic, and self-loving!  

I took these two photos just a moment apart, but they have such a striking contrast! In the first one, the light is gently falling on Rebecca and she has a really confident expression. The second photo is just pure joy!
