Minneapolis Bridal Boudoir Outfit Inspiration
What to wear for a bridal boudoir portrait session
About half of my boudoir clients are planning a boudoir session as a gift for themselves, and about half of my clients are doing a boudoir session so that they can give the portraits to a significant other as a gift. A bridal boudoir session is the best of both worlds - you can capture a magical time in your own life, and you can use the portraits as an incredibly romantic wedding gift for your fiance.
Practically speaking, a lot of women collect special accessories for their wedding day and including those in your portraits makes a lovely way to get further use out of those pieces.
When my clients are planning a bridal boudoir session, they'll ask me for advice about how to style their session to feel romantic, elegant, and bridal. Here are my top outfit receommendations!
A white set with your veil and wedding accessories
White is feminine, romantic, and very bridal, so it's an obvious choice for a bridal boudoir outfit. If you're not sure what to choose, go for a romantic style with a matching bralette and lace panties.
I also recommend including other bridal accessories that you have - bring along your wedding jewelry, shoes, veil, garter, or even your wedding dress!
A silky chemise with lace detailing
A chemise is a beautiful way to add variety in to your portraits - they're elegant and stunning in a classic, romantic way; they provide a little more skin coverage while still being really beautiful and sexy, and you can find them in all kinds of fabrics, textures, and colors.
I love chemises that offer something a little special, like the lace details in this one. Solid black is a beautiful choice, but this is also a really lovely place to incorporate your favorite colors, your wedding hues, or a romantic neutral like charcoal or blush.
Your wedding-night lingerie
Many women will shop for something special to bring on their honeymoon, and incorporating that in your bridal boudoir session is incredible! A balconette bra and a cheeky bottom with lace detailing is a beautiful choice.
Those are my favorite styles for bra and underwear sets for boudoir: balconette bras offer some support and shape while still looking natural, and a lot of them have beautiful details (like embroidery or texture) that make them feel more special than an everyday bra. Cheeky bottoms provide a medium amount of coverage and are the most flattering to your curves.
