A year in review at Illuminate Boudoir

It’s that time of year again where I get to pull out my favorite mug, make a fresh cup of coffee, and look back over all the sessions I’ve photographed this past year.

This year, I’ve photographed incredible trans women taking an intentional moment to celebrate their authentic selves. I’ve photographed folks facing a new cancer diagnosis or preparing for a huge medical intervention, who desperately wanted to photograph a side of themselves they don’t get to readily see and show to the world every day. I’ve photographed clients navigating heavy mental health or relational stressors, who are in need of a burst of joy and a reminder of their power and resilience. I’ve seen clients step into the studio for the first time and the fifth time, feeling tired and brave and eager to shore up their hope in what beauty still exists here too. I’m humbled and inspired by the art we’ve created together.
