A minimalist boudoir session in Minneapolis full of confidence and color
Lauren had been aware of my work and wanted to do a boudoir session for a long time, waiting for the right moment. When she learned about my minimalist session offering, she immediately reached out to book! She had felt a bit intimidated by booking a full day-long boudoir experience right off the bat, but she was drawn to the smaller container minimalist sessions offer, which felt more approachable and like a perfect fit in this season of life (and if you’re curious, you can read more about minimalist sessions on my info/pricing guide!).
Lauren wanted her boudoir session to feel happy, confident, and full of beautiful feminine energy. Embracing the simplicity of the minimalist session, she decided to wear one outfit for the full photoshoot: a sheer, soft pastel bodysuit with beautiful floral embroidery. This was an outfit she loved to wear and felt extra confident in, which shines through so powerfully in her portraits.
We used several areas in my Minneapolis boudoir studio for Lauren’s portraits, including the spacious window seat which was drenched with warm morning light, and the accent wall in my studio which at the time was painted a velvety berry color. We also took some portraits in front of my luminous wall of windows. Lauren was drawn to boudoir portraits that felt colorful, warm, and full of life, and as someone with a lot of tattoos she wanted to showcase the lines, colors, and textures of her tattoos. Most of her session felt like the happiest explosion of romantic, spring energy. I kept most of her portraits in color, but her session also included a few soulful moments that just asked to be in black and white.
