Bria's Glamorous, Effortless Boudoir Portraits
Bria and I connected at a wedding fair before doing a first boudoir session together a couple of years ago, and last summer we reconnected for a session that had a totally different vibe than her first. I have been enthralled by Bria’s awesome and powerful energy since we first met years ago, and I was so psyched to work with her again in my studio.
While planning this second boudoir experience, Bria said that when she looks back on portraits from her first session, the ones that feel more candid and moment-based are some of her favorites. She also liked the idea of pairing those with some pictures that felt ultra-sexy, dramatic, and glamorous.
In her session we worked to incorporate these two themes and bring this chapter of her life alive through portraits. She brought a great mix of outfits, pulling in both styles and bringing her session from casual and chill with sweaters and relaxed tops to super dramatic and epic with a bodysuit and lingerie sets with pops of color or strappy details.
She wanted her hair to have a relaxed, soft texture--emanating a “just woke up” look and her makeup to be epic and “glam as hell.” I love that her makeup isn’t distracting or the first thing you notice, but really fits in well with her overall dramatic, glamorous, and effortless look.
At the time of her session Bria was really fulfilling her soul and following her dreams by doing what felt right for her in her life. She was taking care of herself, involved in politics, running a local house campaign, and super involved in the nonprofit scene. In short, she is a powerhouse, and it was a really cool season of her life to document in photographs.
Bria, thank you for choosing to document this season of your life with another boudoir session. I’m so inspired by how you’re pursuing all of these powerful things that you believe in right now - and I love that we were able to bring that power into these portraits. I loved working with you again! Can’t wait until next time :)
